    An idea is a lot like a recipe

    For making a dish you need (at least):
    • recipe (idea)
    • food (ingreedients)
    • knives, forks, pans, ... (tools)
    • kitchen (workspace)
    • hungry eaters (an interested audience)
    • dinning table (consuming space)
    • cooking knowledge
    • cooking skills
    • time
    • energy
    • motivation

    To prepare a good dish, a recipe is required.
    While a good recipe can't hurt the dish, there is so much more that needs to go right.
    It's possible to cook a good dish even by using a not-so-good recipe.

    Thinking more broadly, a good idea to begin with can't hurt the final result.
    However, there is so much more that needs to go right.
    Right?

    Recipe is covering both -- a what (idea) and a how (plan) aspect.
     
    Of course ideas can spawn more ideas, especially if they aren't fully developed yet.
     
    How ideas come to be? That's a whole new subject.

    I'm assuming here that you already have an idea that is fully formed and that you have accepted it as an idea worth implementing. At that point I like the cooking analogy a lot. There's so many elements involved in a good dish beyond an idea and a plan contained in the recipe.

    The recipe is already a rational result of how to achieve the idea, how to transform it from pure imagination into a real thing.
    The recipe is the plan.
    The idea can't hurt the final result if shared and expressed clearly. Good ideas come with power, a transformational power, that helps to create new ideas or adaptations of the original. They are like story telling... each one can imagine something different while listening but at the end the lesson is the same; even if the idea will never come to reality it made obvious that something can be done, that there is a need or something that can be improved.
    Ideas are born to motivate us. Not necessary to come to reality. Ideas are the pure Human desire to go beyond and to make the dreams fall into our lives.
